BREAKING: Wahab Issa Constitutes 1,300 Campaign Council, Names Aisha Ibrahim DG

  • Harps On Issue-Based Campaign  The candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa has appointed Hon. Bodunrin Aisha Ibrahim, Hon. Abdullahi Ayuba Olaitan, Alh. Toyin Kajola, Alh. Yakub Olateju into his campaign council, ahead of the 2023 general elections. Hon. Bodunrin Aisha Ibrahim is to serve as the Director General, while Hon. Abdullahi Ayuba Olaitan, Alh. Toyin Kajola and Alh. UNILORIN Gets CBN N600 Million To Establish Poultry Farm

  The University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, Kwara State, North Central Nigeria has secured N600 million loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria to establish a commercial poultry farm to boost eggs and chicken production. Golden Times reports that the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Mikhail Buhari disclosed this while addressing journalists. Buhari said that UNILORIN was the only institution that got the highly competitive loan. He said that when established, the GG Max Poultry Farms would play a key role in the agro-based business toward reviving the poultry sub-sector. Buhari said this will reduce importation and close the existing demand and supply gap of eggs and allied poultry products.

Woman, 54, Arrested For Recruiting Self Into Nigeria Police

  A 54-year old woman, Mrs. Christiana Otukogbe, who reportedly recruited herself into the Nigeria Police Force and operated in that capacity over the years, has finally been arrested for impersonation in Lagos State. Golden Times reports that the suspect, Christiana Otukogbe, was arrested by the Police at Ipaja Division.  The woman, Christiana ran into trouble after the Police went to Maborukose Street in Ipaja to arrest a criminal suspect, Samson Francis, who is the grandchild to Mrs. Christiana and she aided his escape as she obstructed the Police from performing their duty.  When the information got to the DPO, CSP Tokumbo Aboniwonda, she directed Christiana to meet with her in order to know why she would obstruct officers on duty whereas she was a Police woman. Emir of Kano Asked Us To Delay Fully Boarded Aircraft for One Hour, Air Peace Denies Disrespect

The airline has said, contrary to the claim by the Emir's cousin, Air Peace did everything to protect the Emir's image. The management of Air Peace has rejected claims that the airline treated the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, with disrespect. The carrier, in a statement signed by its Chief Operating Officer, Toyin Olajide, claimed that the company protected the emir's image by refusing to delay the flight he was scheduled to board. The Emir’s cousin, Prince Isa Bayero, had written a letter to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) demanding punitive measures be taken against Air Peace over what he described as “disrespect” to the Emir and people of Kano. The Emir’s cousin was reported to have placed a call to the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, pleading for the delay of the airline's morning flight to Kano. Man Nabbed For Allegedly Attempting To 'lure' Three Children Selling Sachet Water In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Vigilante Service has apprehended a man, Ebere Nwosu for allegedly attempting to abduct three minors along the popular Tombia-Etegwe roundabout axis of the state capital, Yenagoa. The 49-year-old suspect was apprehended at about 5 pm on Monday, February 21, after operatives of the vigilante service closely observed his "unusual" interaction with the minors who were hawking sachet water.  The operatives stationed at Tombia roundabout noticed that the suspect was engaging the minors; Rejoice Efe, 11, and Success Obaru; 12, from Delta State, conversation and making several phone calls to an unknown person. The Chairman Vigilante Service, Hon. Double Alagba, who confirmed the development, said the suspect was observed by the men of the vigilante group stationed at the Tombia-etegwe roundabout area. A man identified as Mohammad Bagudu Abdulrahman Lapai and his pregnant wife, Khadijat, have died in a fatal auto crash along Suleja road.   Unknown gunmen have killed Mr. Sule Mathew, a first-class graduate of Communication and former intern with PRNigeria while travelling to Anambra State with other passengers. Mathew, who studied Information and Media Studies, graduated with first-class from the Faculty of Communication, Bayero University Kano (BUK), recently. He was killed with other passengers at Ekwulobia one of the largest cities in Anambra State after Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi. The remains are reportedly Deposited at the General Hospital Ekwulobia.
