Electrifying Crowds Welcome Wahab Issa In Ilorin East, South, As Saraki Joins Ward Tours

 

The candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ilorin East and South federal constituency, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa was received by a mammoth crowd during the continuation of his rally across the constituency led by the former President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON) recently.

A mini road show embarked upon by Saraki and Wahab Issa on their way to Sabo Line from the palace of Balogun Fulani witnessed a massive turnout. There was traffic gridlock as a result of the festival-like reception from the people in the area. 

Speaking at the tour, the immediate past Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki described the atmosphere as a spontaneous reaction to what the youths have been through at the hands of the ruling party at the state and national levels.

“A lot of them were given the wrong impression and unkept promises and they have seen that it’s time to go to a government that will support and care for them. We have said the APC has nothing to offer the youths and Nigerians and that is what is being reiterated here today”, he said.

Saraki also said that this is the time to rescue Nigeria and set it in the right direction, adding that the PDP has demonstrated the energy and enthusiasm to take over governance in the state and Nigeria. 

“These are ordinary people on the street saying “O su wa” (we are tired). And why would they not be when you look at the cost of a bag of rice and garri, the issue of insecurity and all other negative indices plaguing the country? The story is the same. But the people want a greener pasture and different direction in this country which only the PDP can offer”, he said.

Earlier, the PDP House of Representatives Candidate for Ilorin East and South federal constituency, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa decried what he called the careless tendencies and maladministration exhibited by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and the nation at large.

He recalled that a 2019 campaign of calumny by the APC in the state robbed the Saraki dynasty of its generational transformation in the state through the dubious slogan of O’toge, which ushered the APC to power, saying Kwarans are tired of the four years of APC administration and the coalition that sold the Otoge mantra is fragmented.

He promised that if elected, he will use his legislative experience to push for the interest of the Federal Constituency and ensure it’s on the front burner of activities in the Green Chamber, through bills, motions and petitions that will be of direct benefit to constituents.

The tours to communities in both Ilorin East and South LGAs featured PDP Deputy Gubernatorial candidate, Peter Makanjuola, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, Hon. Taiye Alaya, Alhaji Haruna Maigidasanma Alhaji Kawu Baraje, party stakeholders and structures from Kwara Central among other reputable members of the party.
