The People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa has received over 800 card-carrying members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the party across different electoral wards in Ilorin East Local Government ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The event which was held in Onikoko Community, Ibagun Ward of Ilorin East LGA was a grand reception organized by a Non-Governmental Organisation, KEYS Nigeria, under the leadership of Engr. Kabeer Dan-Sakara, to receive the decampees into the party.

The decampees included members of the NGO who are card-carrying members of the SDP comprising professionals, women and youths belonging to the Isokan Youth Forum and several other zones in Ilorin East Local Government.

In his remarks, the Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman of the party, Alhaji Isiaka Owolabi described the crowd as astonishing and a sign of approval that the people are behind the leadership of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and have genuine trust in the candidacy of the flagbearers of the party from the National to State levels.


In the same vein, DDG Kwara Central, Hon. Abubakar Amuda Kannike applauded the quality and calibre of decampees, assuring that the party will carry them along and will do all the needful to make them comfortable the same way as other card-carrying members of the PDP in the state.

The defection of the women and youths is said to be motivated by the leadership quality, antecedents and potentials of Hon. Wahab Issa which has made the candidate indisputably unbeatable in the race for a seat at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.




Speaking earlier, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa appreciated the people for always standing firm by him whenever an occasion demands, assuring that they should get ready to see him do more for the people, as no one would be left behind in the wave of development across the constituency if elected.

Wahab, who was greeted with euphoria by the crowd at the venue, also welcomed the decamped new members of the party, promising that he would work closely with them.



Speaking on behalf of the over 800 decampees in various electoral wards across the Ilorin East Local Government, Mr Saad Taiye Ibrahim, Youth Leader, SDP Isokan Forum, affirmed their loyalty and commitment to the PDP in its quest to oust the APC and fix the broken state of the state's socio-economic and political fabrics.

Among the personalities present were the PDP Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, Alh. Isiaka Owolabi, the State DDG Campaign of the PDP, Hon. Abubakar Amuda-Kannike, Hon. Saka Babatunde, Ilorin East House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Haruna Maigida-Sanma, ABS Director of Community Outreach, Hon. Ibrahim Olayinka Otukoko, several other stalwarts of the PDP and other personalities.

Kwara 2023: Take Charge Of Your Destiny, Collect Your PVCs — Elelu Tells Constituents

A Policy Analyst and Youths Advocate, Mudashir Bolakale Elelu (MBE) have charged electorates to take their destiny into their hands by enrolling and collecting their Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, to be able to vote in the 2023 general elections.
