Birthday: Celebrating Wahab Issa's Life of Philanthropy and Service To Humanity

20th January is here again, when we all converge to celebrate an outstanding patriot, a selfless leader and a peacemaker, whose strides in public life have continued to testify for him across lands and borders. We are celebrating the life of a man who has kept faith with this vision, channelling his strength and time in pursuit of an egalitarian society. He is a servant leader and a good man; the type that is hard to find in the current Nigerian political setting. 

Across and beyond Ilorin emirate, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa needs no introduction. As one of the few wealthy people around a multitude of the needy, he has become an icon of enterprise with a deep sense of compassion for the less privileged. His is a story of patriotism, a life well-lived in service to the people and humanity. He has given meaning to the lives of the people around him and exceedingly those he knew nothing about their backgrounds. 

Wahab Issa’s sense of empathy is unrivalled in Ilorin and Kwara State and this has continued to win him fans and loyalists across the board and beyond political boundaries through donations to community development projects and various humanitarian causes. As a one-time this or that, he has built schools, and healthcare centres, constructed roads, electrified communities, empowered women and youths and most notably, provided employment opportunities for graduates in federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies. 

Through dint of hard work, diligence, patience, faithfulness, excellent human relations skills and the ability to identify and harness opportunities across various sectors, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa has distinguished himself as an outstanding personality in the political arena. The need to give back to society prompted him to establish relationships with everyone, especially women and young people with promising futures.

Like a good athlete, Wahab Issa runs with passion and faith. He is a soldier of truth, committed to justice, equity and other democratic virtues. He is a very loving, relatable, caring and generous man, who has bequeathed a good name that would last from generation to generation to his family and community. His children, grandchildren great-great-great grandsons and daughters would live to extol the virtues of the legendary benefactor by living up to his name in character, conduct and philanthropy.

Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa has proved that politics goes beyond seeking and holding top political office. His love for the youths has been demonstrated over the years. Issues concerning the youths touch him more and elicit passionate, incisive and brilliant responses from him. This passion for the youth is however not new. That is the more reason he has surrounded himself with young, brilliant and committed ladies and gentlemen like myself and others. 

As this consummate democrat celebrates one of his happiest days, one can only wish him a happy birthday and many happy returns.
